USB Drives…

I’ve been using Western Digital USB drives for about four or five years now. Back in 2004 my laptop hard drive bonked and I found myself with stale backups that were about a month old. I’m lucky I only lost a month’s worth of work but it woke me up to the fact that my backup process was lacking.

I bought a Western Digital 40GB Passport and used it to back up all my important files and installation programs. It’s worked great and has never given me any problems but recently I filled it to capacity (40GB doesn’t go as far as it used to) so I was forced to get a newer model.

We saw a nice sale on a Western Digital 350GB Passport Elite drive at Costco so I had my wife pick it up for me. Right out of the box I was surprised at how much smaller and lighter this drive was than my old 40GB model. It almost seemed to be too fragile but I’ve been using it for about a week now and it’s a great drive. For anyone looking for a great portable USB drive, I’d highly recommend looking at a Western Digital product.
